Mini Album for Valentine's Day
Hi everyone, Anita here and today I want to share with you a super cute mini album I made for Valentine's Day. I love to make mini albums - I have a bookcase full of them and they are all over the house.
For this project I used a Maya Road Square Canvas Binder Album. I started by taking the canvas off the album so I could work with it. I really wanted a hippie feel for this, and I knew I wanted some negative space on it.
I cut a heart from scrap cardstock and used temporary tape to stick it to the album cover. Then I pulled a handfull of Gelatos® to start coloring. I pretty much used a random order and scribbled color all over the front of the cover.
Once I had the Gelatos® down like I wanted, I added some detail to it. I used my Metallic PITT® Artist Pen in Gold to add Swiss Dots, my Stamper's Big Brush Pen in White for some swirls, and my Art Grip® Aquarelle Watercolor pencils for some fill in color, then I went back with a wet paint brush to blend it in.
When I had my pattern like I wanted it, I went ahead and finished the whole cover. I also added little red sweethearts with my Stamper's Big Brush Pen Deep Scarlett and little swatches of color with my new Paper Crafter Crayons®.
I wanted some extra detail to define the negative space in the heart, so I used my Gold Metallic PITT® Artist Pen and made little dots all the way around.

I hope you give coloring on cavas a try, with the Mix and Match System from Faber-Castrell Design Memory Craft® you will be sure to end up with a fabulous project!

I have just started trying out Gelatos on canvas. I LOVE using them dry.
