Card with Background Resist Technique with Gelatos!

Gelato Final card

Hello everyone!  Today I would like to share a great card I made using Gelatos from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft. I’m so excited!!  I wanted anxiously to use my Gelato to try new technique obviously for me.  I tried Resist technique and used Gelatos as watercolor and DTP.  Here’s how I made my card:

I gathered my supplies: Gelatos Metallic: Grape, Blueberry, Butterscotch and mint, Brush, plastic cup, water, VersaMark ink, white embossing powder, cardstock, card and stamp came with Mix and Match set from Faber Castell Design Memory Craft.

Step 1

Using the watermark ink stamp on your cardstock several times, then add the embossing powder and heat. You will end up with something like this

Step 2

Using your first Gelatos color: Blueberry, plastic cup and water make your watercolor, using your brush apply  the mix, (the result with be a bit of a paste, depends on the amount of water) to the stamped cardstock. Make sure you use watercolor papers or water absorbed because if not it will ruin your work. Apply the mix to the whole cardstock also on the embossing designs.

Step 3

With a cloth or a baby wipe take out the mix on top of your embossed designs and if you are comfortable with the watercolor background just reserve if not add more color this time I add Grape Gelatos a bit to the edge to make a accent color on the edge.

I mixed the color using my fingers and add more colors this time I used Gelatos: Butterscotch, Mint and bit more of Grape. Blended them together using your fingers. You will end up with this.

Step 4

I use the DTP to blend colors to my stamped sentiment to combined with the background colors and using a die cut I add it to the center of the card. Just embellish it with some purple rhinestones.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project as much as I did!! Have you noticed all of Faber Castell design, memory, craft products and their wide variety are so easy to use? And so many combinations to choose from.

Thanks and have a great day!
