Too Much of a Good Thing......

Swarup here with my very first post as Guest Designer for Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft^®.

With the holidays behind us now, time to start thinking about Valentines day!

I am sharing a clean and simple card with you all today, which I think would be perfect for Valentines day!. As much as I love all the pink and red that goes with Valentines, I sometimes prefer to use non-traditional colors too.I went for a 'page  out of my sketchbook look" for this card. I took some pictures along the way to give you all an idea of how easily an artsy look  can be achieved if you have the right tools and mediums. The Mix and Match line of Faber - Castell Design Memory Craft blend so well you can create something with a just a few colors.

 

Step 1-

The supplies

Step 2-

Stamp the sentiment on watercolor paper in black using Stampers Big Brush Pen or Memento ink

Stamp the image using Versamark or any pigment ink which stays wet for a longer time and emboss the image using Gloss embossing powder. Then color in the image using Stampers Big Brush inyellow ,red and blue , for the shoes I used Black Pitt Pastel pencil  

Then start coloring around the image using Gelatos® in metallic blue and green ...once I laid down the Gelatos®, I went over it with a wet brush to soften the color and give it a more watercolor effect.

Step 4-

 

For the green, I used Stampers Big Brush pen in May green and also green Art GRIP^® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils

That all there is to this card..wasn't that easy?

 The rich vibrant color of  the metallic gelatos compliment the  Stampers Big Brush pens.. a match made in heaven!

I am a self taught watercolorist and a  trained textile designer . Over  the last 20 years I have  learned how to blend them both and bring that into my Papercrafting. I have been scrapbooking and card making for more than a  decade now and immensely enjoy creating these mini masterpieces as I like to call them. I consider every card I create to be  a miniature piece of art and  usually favor a clean and simple style in my card making..and  enjoy a bolder look in  my  Art journals. I enjoy photography and love to travel.
