Colorful Creative Escape - Gelatos Techniques
Today I have a layout to share with you! I used some texture mediums and then layered Gelatos using a few techniques and created a colorful and artsy scrapbook page.
I love the bright colors of the Gelatos and how the different colors can mix and match other media in the Design Memory Craft lines. The Gelatos are so versatile! You can use them dry or wet. So many fun techniques and ways to use them!
You can see here how I dripped the color down the page. I love doing this to create lines, interest, and it's just plain fun!
First, I used an old credit card (don't worry, it expired!) to apply Gesso from the Textural Accents pack. I also added some Fiber Paste in areas. Once they were dry, I applied a rainbow of Gelato colors across the middle. The textural surface allowed it to grab on and stay really bright! I added a bit of water from a misting bottle in the tool kit and allowed it to drip down the page!
In the second photo you can see the intensity of the colors on the textured surface. I love how the edges are softened by the water and the fiber paste. I layered papers and embellishments to highlight the colors. I also printed my journaling on vellum so that it wouldn't cover up the gorgeous color!
The page is about my need to have creative escapes throughout my week. I have to create! The photos are from the Scrapbook Expo in Akron, Ohio. I had so much fun showing people how to use Gelatos in a variety of ways!
I hope some of you got Gelatos for Christmas from your own Santa! Have fun playing with Gelatos over a variety of surfaces.
